Hi, my name is Alexia Peña and I am Border Town's Digital Marketing Manager! I am the granddaughter of Border Town's owners, Amando and Dalinda Peña. I am a sophomore at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas majoring in finance and minoring in advertising. While being stuck at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I started looking for ways to keep myself busy. I noticed Border Town's social media and online presence could use some work. Consequently, I asked my dad and grandpa if I could help out with Facebook and Instagram posts. I began taking simple photos and using an app on my phone to make them look like an advertisement. Right away, our social media presence skyrocketed and I was able to increase engagement by at least 75%. I started changing up the ways I made advertisements, videos, and other posts week by week. Each week, we were gaining more and more engagement. While I am still learning every day, I appreciate all of the positive feedback I have been receiving from employees and customers.
